The ankle-brachial index, or ABI, is a simple, non-invasive way to see if you are at risk for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). To find a screening site, visit one of the links below. Most sites perform the ABI, which compares the blood pressure in your ankles with the blood pressure in your arms.

Legs for Life Screening Program, coordinated by the Society of Interventional Radiology, launches its annual screening program each fall.  You can also locate year-round screening sites on SIR’s Web site; click on “vascular screening” to find a center near you.

Arkansas

The Little Rock Cardiology Clinic’s Vascular Clinic (LRCC) offers FREE ABI exams for Peripheral Arterial Disease Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

For more information contact Dee White, APN, NP-C, at 501-614-3647. Walk-ins are welcome. The screenings are conducted as part of LRCC’s community awareness program. They also provide lectures on PAD awareness throughout Arkansas.

Ohio

Contact the Center for Vascular Health at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio for free PAD screenings. Please contact 800.834.4917 or 216.363.2732, ext. 33738 to schedule an appointment.

Pennsylvania

Contact Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton, Pennsylvania offers free ABI screenings the first Tuesday of the month. Please contact 610. 278.2815, appointments are required.
