The ankle-brachial index, or ABI, is a simple, non-invasive way to see if you are at risk for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). To find a screening site, visit one of the links below. Most sites perform the ABI, which compares the blood pressure in your ankles with the blood pressure in your arms.
Legs for Life Screening Program, coordinated by the Society of Interventional Radiology, launches its annual screening program each fall. You can also locate year-round screening sites on SIR’s Web site; click on “vascular screening” to find a center near you.
