Excellence in Care Award Recipient

Nominated by his fellow workers at the Wound Treatment Center at Frye Regional Medical Center on February 6, 2003.  Dr. Kiell is an outstanding vascular surgeon and works hard to implement new patient care policies and procedures.  He was instrumental in opening the Wound Treatment Center.  His vascular expertise helped make the Center successful and brought their healing rate to 94 percent, earning the Center a Curative Health Services Annual Healing Achievement Award in 2000.  He has also been instrumental in educating his community about the health risks of AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) and instrumental with the intermittent claudication program at the Center.

Here are some of the fabulous comments made in his honor:

"Our entire staff has learned a lot from Dr. Kiell.  He has been the driving force behind this clinic and a valuable asset."  --Cindy Miller, RN, BSN, CWS.

"Dr. Kiell has been the driving force behind our intermittent claudication program.  He and Deanna Smith have created a valued service for patients in our community suffering from leg pain and decreased independence because of peripheral arterial disease.  Dr. Kiell is extremely knowledgeable, always on the cutting edge of research and program advancements.  His holistic approach and his willingness to explore and exhaust all possibilities is only surpassed by his personal care for the individuals he treats." -- Carol Kammer, Administrative Director of Rehabilitation Services
