Sheila Braithwaite Memorial Fund

The Sheila Braithwaite memorial fund was established in September 2011 by her loving family.

Our mother, Sheila Braithwaite (pictured far right with her son Steve and daughter Zuleika), flew on a trans Atlantic flight and unfortunately developed a blood clot (deep vein thrombosis or DVT) during the flight that caused a pulmonary embolism.

The ironic part was that she was flying from England to America to visit her two sons Steve and Spade to celebrate beating cancer.

In honor of his mother, Steve and his brother Spade are driving a car in the shape of a banana around the world to raise awareness of DVT and support vascular disease education. You donations not only support their travels around the world, but the Vascular Disease Foundation.

You can track their progress and learn more about how you can support this exciting campaign at The Big Banana Car DVT Awareness Drive website, www.bigbananacar.com.

Your kind donation will help others who are struggling with DVT. To learn more about DVT and how you can prevent it, click here.
