Do you have poor circulation in your legs causing pain when walking?

Novel Gene Transfer Research Study Underway for Leg Pain

If you are 40 to 80 years old and suffer from blocked leg arteries causing pain brought on by walking (intermittent claudication), you may be eligible to participate in a new research study. The study is underway in the United States and in Europe to assess the safety and effectiveness of an experimental new gene transfer drug being investigated for the potential to treat intermittent claudication.

The research study, sponsored by Genzyme Corporation, will determine if the investigational gene transfer drug can increase the growth of new blood vessels and improve blood flow in the legs. Three different doses of the gene transfer drug will be compared to placebo (solution not containing gene transfer substance).
